Back in 2016 and continuing for a second year as part of its commitment to patient’s well-being, Whitfield Clinic is delighted to introduce its 2016 Food and Health Initiative, to run in tandem with RTE’s popular health programme Operation Transformation.
The team at the Atrium Café is committed to providing a healthier choice to Whitfield’s patients, staff and visitors. Meals that are fresh, tasty and developed with similar nutritional profiles as those on Operation Transformation are available in the Café each week.
While nutrition plays a big role at Whitfield Clinic, so does taste and quality menu choices. Good nutrition is especially important to patients because illnesses and their treatment can affect one’s energy levels, ability to recuperate and appetite. Certain treatments can even affect ones’ body's ability to tolerate certain foods and best use of nutrients.
Keep an eye out for the healthy Operation Transformation options at the Atrium Café. Some of last year’s popular dishes such as Stir Fried Pork with Ginger, Lemon Aioli Marinated Chicken, Chorizo Spiced Haddock and a range of vegetarian options, could be making a welcome return.
Alan O’ Connor, Whitfield Catering Manager “Following the success of last year’s OT menu initiative at Whitfield we are delighted to welcome our Food and Health Initiative back for 2016. Last year, almost 70% of Whitfield’s patients chose the Operation Transformation option, so it’s a ringing endorsement for tasty, healthy, nutritional and balanced meal choices.”
