As part of our continued to commitment to keeping our staff at the forefront of care for our patients we recently held a Diabetic Awareness week in Whitfield Clinic.
This included lectures for our staff from a Diabetic Nurse Specialist from St. James' hospital, which included topics such as why we have increasing instances of diabetes in our population. She also educated our staff regarding insulin management for patients, and the differences between types of insulin.
Our own Tissue Viability Specialist nurse, Norma delivered lectures to our team on adverse effects to patients with Diabetes, such as diabetic foot.
The lectures contributed to our clinical staffs continuing professional development.
